Introducing Saki: NASC First Import

After much work and discussion, we have finally come to the point of being able to import a Shikoku from Japan.  I would like to thank all of those who have donated and everyone else working behind the scenes to make this possible.

Saki is a black sesame female who was born November 11th, 2010.  She is fairly unrelated to the Shikoku already imported into North America, so will make a nice out-cross from the lines already established here.

Quoted from her posting on the Nihonken Blog:

“Temperament wise she seems like the typical high strung young Shikoku female, fairly vocal. I took a video of her coming out of her kennel, she was worked up until we got out on the road. She was fine with approaching me and sniffing, and a little contact. She also did not seem to be aggressive toward other dogs. I spoke with her owners, and of course she has been kenneled singly her whole life, and not raised as a pet, so they can make no assurances about how she’ll fare with other dogs or people.”

Saki’s pedigree can be found here:  She is still in Japan, but hopefully we can bring her over soon.  If you would like to find out more information or help contribute, feel free to contact the club for more details.  Stay tuned for Thank you!
